MATCH PREVIEW: Mold Alexandra vs Penrhyncoch

This weekend the Roosters begin their inaugral WBS Tier Two League Cup campaign with an away trip to Mold Alexandra.

The Roosters go into the game wanting to get a good run of form going after suffering three defeats already this season to the hands of Porthmadog, Mold and Prestatyn Town. Gari Lewis’ side currently find themselves second bottom of the JD Cymru North on four points, level on points with Gresford, one point behind Holyhead Hotspur and two ahead of bottom-placed Conwy Borough.

Penrhyn’s points this season have come from a victory against Gresford Athletic and a draw with Chirk AAA.

Mold have started their life in the JD Cymru North on a strong note. After promotion from the Ardal North West last season, they currently find themselves sat seventh in the league on seven points.

Apart from the Roosters, Mold have also beaten Llanidloes Town and Gresford Athletic but have suffered two 4-0 defeats to Guilsfield on the opening day, and Colwyn Bay in their most recent match.

Squad News:

Steffan Gittins will be unavailable for selection this game as he heads into his second game of his three game suspension after being shown a red against Chirk.

Jonathan Foligno, Niall Coleridge, Tihomir Trifonov, Geoff Kellaway, Charlie Mann and Cai Thomas will all be out due to injury but Tomos Evans and Josh Shaw will be available for selection.
