MATCH PREVIEW | Penrhyncoch vs Llandudno

The Roosters welcome promotion hopefuls Llandudno to Cae Baker this Saturday as Gari Lewis’ side look to get their second win of the campaign.

The Roosters currently find themselves 14th in the JD Cymru North and go into this game off of the back of a penalty shootout loss at the hands of Ardal North Eat side Caersws, a result which saw Penrhyn exit the JD Welsh Cup. Liam Lewis’ goal was not enough as former Newtown man Neil Mitchell’s equaliser was enough to hold the score until the final whistle.

Despite the difficult start to the season, a win against the Seasiders could see Gari Lewis’ men climb as high as 9th place if all other results were to go their way.

Llandudno currently find themselves sat 2nd in the table, three points behind league leaders and rivals Colwyn Bay.

Llandudno enter this game on a good note after most recently knocking Llanidloes Town out of the WBS Tier Two League Cup. A comfortable 3-0 scoreline means Sean Eardley’s side will travel to Guilsfield in the next round.

Kick-off at Cae Baker is at 2:30pm. Come on down to support the lads and motivate them to get their second win of the season. See you there!

Daniel Owen joins on loan

Penrhyncoch FC are delighted to announce forward Daniel Owen has joined the club on loan from Aberystwyth Town until January 2023.

Despite only being 19 years-old, Daniel already has an extremely impressive goal-scoring record in both youth and senior men’s football.

Last season he represented both Aberystwyth Town’s U19’s side and Tregaron Turfs. For the young Black and Greens, he scored 17 goals in 22 games whilst for Tregaron’s first team he scored an incredible 36 goals in 29 games.

“Dan is another player I worked with in the academy at Aberystwyth at under-16 level.” Gari Lewis told the club’s media. “He’s frighteningly quick, very direct. He had a great season with Tregaron last year, he scored lots of goals in men’s football.

He’s just not quite managed to break into Aberystwyth’s 18-man squad at the moment so it’s a wonderful opportunity to be able to bring him here with Geoff [Kellaway] picking up a bad injury and Gitso [Steffan Gittins] out for three games, so he’s going to be a huge addition to the squad. Croeso i’r clwb Dan, a pob lwc!”

Croeso i Cae Baker Dan!
